in case you’ve been living on walden pond, or digging your 2012 shelter all year, every wednesday is cheeseburgerwednesday - a weekly exhibition of cheeseburger gluttony. it’s the zenith of the work week for me, the day that i become one with my avarice for ground beef and melty cheese.

where to eat the cheeseburger is always the toughest query to answer. it usually takes the entire 8 hour shift at work to decide, and sometimes, a little overtime too. today, maybe umami burger. they just opened in the old cobras and matadors space on hollywood blvd in los feliz. the manly burger sounds disgusting - beer-cheddar cheese, smoked salt onion strings, bacon lardon - and i mean disgusting as in sick, and sick as in awesome! and it’s walking distance from the tiki ti.

the only setback of umami burger looks like the price: 9-12 clams for a burger. steep, but their unique flavor and preparation hopefully make up for it.
